Ainsworth on short-term contract?

The Times newspaper has reported that Hereford United's latest signing, Lionel Ainsworth, has been 'awarded a short-term contract'.

When the news of the signing was announced yesterday by the club there was no mention of what sort of deal had been agreed.

The club simply said that Ainsworth 'has today signed for the Bulls'. However this morning the club said that he had been given the Number Seven 'shirt for the forthcoming season'.

So from where did the Times get their version of events?
