News Round Up

Rob Purdie has signed a two year deal at Darlington, according to the Northern Echo. Notts County have signed forward Spencer Weir-Daley from local rivals Forest. He spent two months of last season on loan at Lincoln, scoring five times in 11 games.

Woking chairman Chris Ingram has threatened, again, to quit the club unless development plans are backed. The millionaire has been supporting the club with £500,000 a season since arriving in 2001, and wants locals and the council to back development plans or he will pull the plug warning that the side will drop to the Ryman League.

MK Dons have extended their sponsorship deal with Marshall Amplification for a further three years. Locally based Marshall began sponsoring the side in 2004 following their franchise move from London.

Shrewsbury will release goalkeeper Ryan Esson from his deal if he wants to leave. The former Aberdeen stopper has been linked with a return to Scotland after an injury hit 12 months. Their Gay Meadow home also hosted it's last ever football match with a staff side beating a supporters side by a single goal in a charity match in front of 100 fans.
