Edgar Street will be marked out with a laser guided 'white line' machine this season.
The laser will supercede the out dated method of using a piece of string and a 'trolley full of white paint'. However the 'circles' will still need to be marked in the traditional way.
Meanwhile the reseed of the Edgar Street pitch is growing well and is expected to be ready for football well before the first pre-season friendly in six weeks time on July 21st. The recent wet weather provided ideal conditions for the grass to establish.
Much of the cost of the work has been the special grass mix used. This mix is formulated to provide a thick mat of grass. It was very noticable late last season how poor the pitch played and hopefully this work should provide an ideal surface for several seasons to come.
