Next Game: Brentwood In The FA Trophy At Edgar Street On Saturday 16th November At 3.00pm

Wednesday, June 06, 2007

Bull’s fans finish in seventh spot.

Figures produced by the statisticians of The Football Forum show that an average of 440 United fans travelled to away matches during the season 06/07 which represents 15.33% of the average home gate. Mansfield topped the table with around 20% but their fans may point out that home fixture figures were effected by supporters boycotting the games in protest at Chairman Haslam’s continued involvement with the club. Fans of Shrewsbury Town managed to drag themselves into eighth place on 14.63% with some late play-off spot chasing matches.

Despite Cup matches being excluded, there were still two occasions when the travelling Herefordian throng exceeded 1000 with 1147 making the trip to Stockport and 1067 to Swindon. The biggest away following of the year was Mansfield’s 4047 strong army that attended their match with nearby Notts County whilst the dubious title of “worst away supporters” goes to Boston who took a staggering 42 to witness their 3-1 defeat at Athletico Chester.
