Tim Sills and Hereford United

It is always disappointing when a player doesn't make the grade at a club and none more so than Tim Sills at Hereford United.

Sills just hasn't been able to compete at League Two level. No doubt if he had performed better, Steve Guinan would not have returned to Edgar Street on loan to take over his position.

It all started last June with Sills arriving at Edgar Street. Manager Graham Turner was pleased with the signing.

"I think that he, along with Accrington Stanley's Paul Mullin, has been one of the Conference's best two target-men in recent seasons," Turner told the Hereford Times.

Sills had scored 43 times in 97 Conference starts when at Aldershot. He moved to Oxford in January 2006 but could not repeat his previous form with only one goal in thirteen starts.

However in the first pre-season friendly at Ludlow Sills scored four and looked set for a good campaign.

It wasn't to be.

Assuming Sills was given a one year contract he will probably be released next month and could return to Conference football where the 27 year old may find his previous form.

However, for some reason, the length of his contract wasn't revealed at the time of his signing according to the Hereford Times and a source very close to Sills has said he has a two year contract.
