News Round Up

Ex-Bull Tony Pennock is to be the new manager of Welsh Premier side Port Talbot. The 36 year old hasn't played for current side Newport all season due to injury and is likely to hang up his gloves once the current season ends. Pennock played the 1994/5 season at Edgar Street, making 15 appearances.

Exeter fans will be watching with interest as the trial of former directors John Russell and Mike Lewis starts today. The trial, over their handling of club finances during the 2002/03 season, is expected to last six weeks.

Dagenham keeper Tony Roberts will be told this week how much of his insurance payout he will have to pay back to return to League football. The 37 year old quit professional football in 1998 following a finger injury, that sees him wear a special splint inside his gloves, getting £150,000 from insurers.

Wrexham fans are concerned that the birthplace of the club will be demolished during the redevelopment of the ground. The Turf Hotel hosted the inaugral meeting of the club 130 years ago and regulars were able to watch matches from its balcony until recently.

Rotherham chairman Dennis Coleman has blasted the Football League following his side's relegation. Speaking on the 10 point deduction the club earned for entering Administration, he told the local press: "It is time for the Football League to re-look at what they've done. It is nothing to do with this board or team why the club was in trouble and they've punished us - it's a disgrace."
