Some Hereford United shareholders arriving at last Thursday's Annual General Meeting hadn't received the club's annual report because of postal delays. Normally annual reports are sent out well in advance so that shareholders can study the report before the meeting and formulate any questions they might wish to ask.
The reports were sent out from the club the previous Monday but many only arrived at their destination on the day of the AGM.
It is understood that the reports were sent out with a first class 'Large' stamp attached to them. They were franked at Worcester on Tuesday March 20th.
However some arrived with a yellow sticker on them asking the recipent to pay 111 pence made up of 11p 'unpaid deficient postage' and a handling fee of £1.
The club told shareholders that they had checked the postage rate with the Post Office before sending out the reports.
Another point emerging from the AGM was the re-election of directors. Normally it is usual to tell shareholders in advance which directors are up for re-election but this was not done.
