Tamika Mkandawire has confirmed that Graham Turner accepted an offer for him from Peterborough during the January transfer window.
However Mkandawire has revealed that he declined the move.
"You never say never, but I didn't think it was the right move, at the moment it suits me here," Mkandawire told Bullseye.
"If I move I would like it to be be at a club at a higher level.
"Although some high profile players say if you're good enough you will get through, it isn't as clear cut as that, particularly when clubs can sign a cheaper foreign player."
As well as Mkandawire manager Turner also accepted an offer for Andy Williams. Although no mention was made about the value of the offer from Peterborough it is though to have been at least £100,000. Added to the £150,000 offered for Williams, Hereford United would have received around £250,000 had both players left.
