Accrington face a seven point deduction for fielding ineligible players after the identity of the second player involved was revealed.
Along with Preston's trainee striker Chris McGrail, Accrington's own young goalkeeper Martin Fearon has been named as the second ineligible player. Both players were on scholarship contracts and could not be named in the first team squad. McGrail played as a sub in two matches, while Fearon was an unused sub in a third game. The three matches earned the club seven points.
Meanwhile, with free admission on offer, the club are expecting a gate of only 4,000 - and 500 of those are expected to travel from visitors Torquay. Manager John Coleman told the Accrington Observer:
"With free entry there is no excuse. If they don’t come tomorrow the ground will never be full again. Myself, the players and Eric (Winstanley, the chairman) are not exempt from making mistakes but Eric has dealt a strong first serve into the town and it is up to them to respond with a return.
"It is not an empty gesture. He recognises it is one of the biggest games in our history and we need everyone to get together - we need the town to support us."
