Speaking to the press after the game, Graham Turner was quick to praise Wycombe goalkeeper Ricardo Batista after two fine saves: "I don't know the background to him but right through the game he came and caught his crosses. We were always anxious when putting balls into the box knowing how dominant he was in the air and his reflex saves were first class."

Meanwhile, counterpart Paul Lambert admitted his side had not done enough: "We never deserved to win the game. We didn't do enough and it was really tough. No team surprises me when they come here, we don't have a divine right to win and that was certainly the case today."
