News Round Up

Boston have entered a 'due dilligence' phase with an unnamed backer, who is currently examining the club accounts. Manager Steve Evans told the press: "I understand the talks will be concluded 10 to 14 days into the new year. I don't know anything about the person involved, but I've been told by the chairman that if this person takes over he can make the club stable - and quickly."

Peterboro have confirmed the permanent signing of Aaron McLean from Grays for £150,000. The former Aldershot forward has signed a three and a half year deal after scoring five times since joining on loan at the end of October.

The Posh have also completed a permanent free transfer deal for MK Dons defender Craig Morgan after a loan spell. Between the fees of McLean, George Boyd, and Dagenham pair Craig Mackail-Smith and Shane Blackett the Posh have spent half a million on non-league talent.

Swindon have told Australian striker Royce Brownlie he can leave after just nine starts with the club. Brownlie, 26, was signed from A-League side Queensland Roar in the summer on a one year deal but has barely featured since Paul Sturrock joined the club. The Robins have also released young pros David Stroud and Leigh Henry, and are set to complete a permanent deal to offload midfielder Andy Monkhouse to Hartlepool soon.

Bristol Rovers are hoping to complete a deal to offload transfer listed midfielder James Hunt to Brentford in the next week. The former Pirates captain fell out with manager Paul Trollope in November.
