Torquay Chairman Chris Roberts has barred the Torquay United Supporters Trust from Plainmoor, cancelled a fans forum, and accused it's leading lights of stabbing the club in the back.
Yesterday afternoon, the Trust issued a long statement declaring a meeting on Monday for a vote of 'no confidence' in Roberts and his handling of the club ahead of a planned fans forum with Roberts on Wednesday. Within hours, Roberts hit back accusing the Trust of undermining support for the club and of lying in its statement.
Roberts told the Trust that it could no longer use the club bar for its meetings, and withdrew permission for the Trust to distribute leaflets around the ground during Saturday's high profile FA Cup match with Southampton.
Roberts' history has been questioned by many since he arrived at Plainmoor, and the latest statement has been met with derision from Gulls fans on the message boards with the reaction seeming to garner support for the Trust.
