Former Hereford United favourite Steve Guinan is unlikely to move very far from Cheltenham. Although available for transfer Guinan is currently studying for a degree in sports science at Gloucester University and is unlikely to want to jeopardise his chances there.
Earlier this week he took two exams on the course.
He is understood to want to become a coach after his playing career is over.
Cheltenham boss John Ward says he's had one or two offers for Guinan.
"I left him out of the squad to face Gillingham as we thought he may move on, but he didn't want to do it and turned it down.
"That is his prerogative and I respect that. There may be something happening this week and we are going to help him get a club.
"He has been excellent here but there is a lot of competition for places at the top end of the pitch at the moment."
