Interviewed by BBC Hereford and Worcester after last night's FA Cup defeat at Bristol, Hereford United captain Tamika Mkandawire admitted he could see why the referee had given a penalty which ultimately cost the Bulls at least a replay.
"It's a difficult one; I think [Wayne] Brown's gone for the ball and, to be fair, I think he's clattered the lad a little bit.
"It's always disappointing to lose, but even more so to lose because of a penalty; we felt that we worked quite hard, especially in the second half and maybe we deserved a draw to bring them back to Edgar Street."
Later in the game the captain thought Hereford should have had a penalty.
"We definitely should have had a penalty down at their end; their defender has handled it as it's gone out.
"He hasn't given it, but it's gone now - that's football.
"We felt that we worked quite hard, especially in the second half and maybe we deserved a draw to bring them back to Edgar Street."
Mkandawire also commented on Rob Purdie's chance near the end of the game.
"On another day that goes flying in the top corner.
"I think it's just bobbled before Purds [Rob Purdie] has hit it; it's unlucky, but it just wasn't our day today."
