A chance to influence the Edgar Street redevelopment

A series of meetings to discuss the future of the West Midlands economy begins next week and one of these meetings is to take place at Hereford.

The meetings, which are open to the public, are designed to find out the regions priorities. Businesses, local authorities, the voluntary sector and a host of interested organisations will be taking part in a series of events hosted by Advantage West Midlands and the Regional Assembly.

With Advantage West Midlands expected to be involved with the Edgar Street Grid, the meeting could offer Hereford United football supporters and those involved with the club a chance to push for money to come to Hereford to help regenerate the area around the football ground.

"This is the biggest consultation we have ever embarked upon and we want to hear as many voices as we can in order to shape the future of our region, " said Nick Paul, Chairman of Advantage West Midlands.

"It is at these meetings that we will shape the strategy and the work that organisations such as Advantage West Midlands and the Regional Assembly does in the years ahead to generate £10 billion more for our region."

The meeting at Hereford Racecourse takes place on Tuesday February 20. The event runs between 4pm and 7.30pm, places are limited so attendees must register in advance. More details from 0121 503 3228
