It's rare for Bulls fans to do it but yesterday's referee, Lee Probert from Gloucestershire, has received praise from several supporters after yesterday's performance.
Many Bulls and Port Vale fans were happy that the referee let the game flow, making liberal use of advantages. This is in stark contrast to his performance last week at Shrewsbury, where he booked six and sent one off after a 20 man brawl.
Probert is no stranger to Edgar Street. He presided over the Bulls 3-1 win in the League Cup over Coventry earlier in the season as well as three Conference games in 2002 and 2003.
