Livestock market to move out of Hereford

The decision to move the livestock market out of Hereford has been confirmed this morning by the Herefordshire Council.

The market will move to a 48 acre site close to Wyevale Nurseries just off the recently upgraded Roman Road.

The move is seen as another step in paving the way for redevelopment of the area known as the Edgar Street Grid which includes Hereford United's football ground.

The cost of a new market is said to be around £6 million but the value of the land it currently stands on in Hereford may be worth at least twice as much.
