Blewitt on trial at Daggers

Darren Blewitt is on trial at Dagenham and Redbridge. He played for 60 minutes against Kings Lynn in a friendly.

Blewitt, who has been released by West Ham, spent the first half of last season at Edgar Street.

Meanwhile another former Hereford United player, Danny Carey-Bertram hasn't had a very good start at his new club.

The Cambridge Evening News reports that DCB played in a friendly against Fakenham.

"But United's other forward Danny Carey-Bertram could not have bought a goal last night despite having enough chances to bag a double hat-trick.

"There were enough signs to see that the former Hereford man is capable of hitting the back of the net regularly though, as he showed a knack for being in the right place at the right time.

"Had Carey-Bertram been able to take advantage of his opportunities though, United would already have been well home and dry."
