Gravesend player Lee Protheroe has appealed against his sacking by the club - for alleged gross misconduct.
Protheroe, 30, admitted speaking to an un-named Stevenage player, claimed to be a friend of Protheroe, about Gravesend's likely tactics prior to the Stevenage-Gravesend match on March 25th. Gravesend lost 2-0, but Protheroe took no part in the game having been loaned to Margate for the remainder of the season a few days earlier.
Gravensend held an inquiry and sacked the player for 'gross misconduct'. Protheroe has appealed and the case has been passed on to the Conference and FA.
