The Scarborough manager, Neil Redfearn, has told a fans forum as reported in Scarborough Today that the way forward could be like that adopted at Edgar Street.
Recent reports of a young squad with a few experienced hands at Hereford seem to have influenced Redfearn's thinking.
He promised his supporters to keep his faith in the home-grown players next season, as well as bringing in more quality.
"I think the way forward next season will be to have a small squad and to give players a bit more money so you get the quality - a lot like Hereford United have done," he said.
