There is expected to be a lot of pressure on the referee this afternoon at Edgar Street to ensure that Accrington Stanley are not allowed to use rough tactics on the young Hereford United team.
Hereford United supporters will be watching Mr Mullarkey, who will be in charge, closely.
With Daryl Taylor sent off last Tuesday for what was described as serious foul play, yet no action taken against, rightly or wrongly, the Canvey Island player who clashed with striker Adam Stansfield, there is a feeling in some quarters that some referees are not clamping down hard enough on rough play.
Accrington are one of the top teams in the Conference for fouls, whereas Hereford are, except for Dagenham, the team with the lowest number.
As for yellow cards, Stanley have received roughly 50% more than the Bulls this season to date.
How Mr Mullarkey will deal with the game remains to be seen.
