Daryl Clare has quit Crawley Town, just days after Chairman Chas Majeed told fans he would stay.
Clare, who scored 11 goals in 26 games after a £40,000 move, handed in his notice under breach of contract and was sent home. Peterborough is believed to be his destination, with Posh boss Steve Bleasdale dropping huge hints over the last week in the local press. The pair worked together at Chester when Bleasdale was Mark Wright's no.2, but Clare will not be available until his 14 days notice expires.
In other Conference news, Morecambe have resigned Adriano Rigoglioso after a spell training with the club. Rigoglioso left Morecambe in late 2003 for an injury hit two years with Doncaster where he made just eight starts. Morecambe have also loaned midfielder Paul Lloyd, 19, to Burscough. Kidderminster have signed Burnley teenager Cayne Hanley on work experience terms. The striker has been told by Burnley he will not be offered a professional contract and may join his former youth coach Mark Yates permanently at Aggborough. Aldershot have lost the services of on-loan defender Gary Elphick from Brighton after his club received a cash offer for the player from St Albans City.
