Hereford Heros in Shortlist.

It's the 125th season of The FA Cup, the world's greatest domestic cup competition, and the FA has launched its search for the All-Time FA Cup Team of Heroes.

Over the years there have been many memorable performances from players throughout all levels of the game and the FA wants to know who you would select for your team.

After giving the top 125 ranked FA Cup clubs their chance to nominate their five Cup legends - one keeper, one defender, one midfielder, one forward and a manager - their panel of specialists narrowed them down to an shortlist of 125 - 25 for each position and Hereford United have one legend in each shortlist.

Now it's up to the fans who can pick their own Team of Heroes from the FA's final list in a 4-3-3 formation until the closing date of midnight on Monday 24 April 2006.

More details on the FA Site with details on how to register your vote.

Fred Potter - goalkeeper
Nominated by Hereford United
Potter had played League football for Aston Villa and Doncaster Rovers and was in his 30s when he featured for Southern League Hereford United in their Cup battles with First Division Newcastle United in 1972. While Ronnie Radford was knocking in his 30-yarder, Fred was keeping out "Supermac" and co at the other end.

Roger Griffiths - defender
Nominated by Hereford United
Griffiths was a full-back who joined Hereford United in 1970 from another non-League side, Worcester City. Within two years he had helped to knock top-division Newcastle United out of The Cup. The Hereford-born defender starred in the famous replay win at Edgar Street.

Ronnie Radford - midfielder
Nominated by Hereford United
Radford played League football for Newport before Southern League Hereford signed him in 1971. During his first season at Edgar Street he scored an unforgettable late equaliser against First Division Newcastle from all of 30 yards and his mazy celebratory run, pursued by players and fans, is one of The Cup's great images.

Ricky George - striker
Nominated by Hereford United
George had brief spells in the League in the '60s with Watford, Bournemouth and Oxford but is best known as the player who notched non-League Hereford's extra-time winner at 2-1 against First Division Newcastle in the famous Third Round replay in 1972. Compared to Radford's earlier effort it was unspectacular.

Colin Addison - manager
Nominated by Hereford United
Addison was a goal-scoring inside-forward with Nottingham Forest and Sheffield United, amongst others, before linking up with non-League Hereford when he was 31. He was the Southern League side's player-manager when they famously knocked Newcastle United out of The Cup in a Third Round replay in 1972.
