Aldershot boss Terry Brown has admitted mistakes in his planning for this season, and has said that his squad building for next season has already started.
Brown, speaking to BBC Sport said: "Last year I was quite confident we would pick up some quality players in July and August but most of my targets joined Football League clubs. The recruiting process is starting now, I have a wish list as long as my arm. Last year I must have about 200 on my list and eventually signed four."
First on the list is Crawley defender Ian Simpemba. The lanky Irishman is likely to join the Shots on loan for the remainder of the season before sealing a permanent deal in the summer, though the Shots will be without loan striker Jonny Dixon for a month through injury. They have lined up Watford striker Kyle Matthews on a work experience basis as cover.
In other news, Cambridge have loaned youngster Dave Daniels to AFC Sudbury for a month, just days after finishing a similar spell at Hitchin. Scarboro have released midfielder Leo Bertos, who played just once after being released by York. Gravesend have announced ticket prices will remain the same next season, with season tickets not only the same price but also including the additional two home matches.
