Cardiff want Woolmer Banned

It looks as though referee Andy Woolmer has upset Cardiff City manager, Dave Jones.

Woolmer was in charge of the Luton/Cardiff game last Tuesday which ended in a 3-3 draw. Jones claims he missed a definite penalty.

"I don't think we should have that referee again," Jones told BBC Sport.

"People make mistakes but I don't count that as a mistake, I count that as a decision not being made - it was probably easier not to make it."

In the closing seconds of the match at Kenilworth Road, Luton's Kevin Nicholls brought down Jason Koumas in the area as the Welsh international was poised to grab a hat-trick.

Jones was furious and afterwards turned his ire on Northamptonshire official Woolmer.

"I've already sent my report in - we have an assessment that we have to send in - and I'll also be asking Cardiff City to send a letter requesting that we don't have him again," Jones added.

Woolmer was the referee in charge of one of the Hereford United Conference play-off games when Andy Tretton was sent off two seasons ago.
