It's going to be tough says Horton

Brian Horton, the Macclesfield manager, has commented on the Silkmen's 5-0 defeat by Northampton yesterday and the visit of Hereford United next Tuesday.

"In the first half an hour there wasn't much in the game, then we conceeded two goals inside a minute which is quite disturbing. The third goal was down to poor defending, the same again for the fourth one and there's no excuse for the fifth.

"It's a disappointing result, they are a good side but for half an hour we were even. We've got to be mentally stronger. We're training on Sunday now and we'll be having a look at who's injured because we've received a few knocks. We've got a very important game against Hereford on Tuesday night, it's going to be tough."

Horton admitted that the recent sale of striker Jon Parkin to Hull had left the Silkmen short of a target man.

"People are going to look at that and of course there is no getting away from the situation."
