BBC Hereford and Worcester have reported that Jon Brady has left the Bulls and joined rivals Cambridge United.
Brady, 30, joined the Bulls from Stevenage in the summer and started 21 games for the club, scoring once in the FA Cup at Cambridge City. He had lost his place in recent weeks to youngster Andy Williams.
His departure leaves the Bulls desperately short of midfield cover, with both Stacy Coldicott and Andy Ferrell injured, which suggests that manager Graham Turner would only have allowed this move if he had a replacement already lined up.
UPDATE:
"Jon was travelling a long way from Northampton, I don't think he's done himself justice here," Turner told BBC H&W.
"It frees up a place to bring another player in and there are a number of areas we are looking at."
