Anthony Elding appears close to be finally leaving Stevenage, with Kettering Town having had a bid for his services accepted.
Conference strugglers Southport had made an audacious bid for his services earlier in the week, but Kettering have made an offer that is acceptable to Stevenage, and Elding is now likely to join the Conference North midtable side. Stevenage manager Graham Westley is quoted in local paper The Comet as saying "He can rot in his own juices as far as I'm concerned." but Chairman Phil Wallace is unlikely to waste a valuable asset.
Elding was spotted at Rockingham Road for Tuesday's reserve match with Telford - a match that Elding's brother Darren played for Kettering, and manager Kevin Wilson admitted later on that he had tabled a bid to Stevenage on Friday.
Kettering have also had a second bid for another unnamed Conference player accepted and is likely to seal several new signing over the course of the next couple of weeks.
UPDATE: The Lincoln site on Sport Network claims that Elding remains a target of theirs, and adds that Accrington, Burton, Scarboro, and Cambridge have all also made offers for the player.
