Scottish Second Division side Ross County will cease to employ a football team in a novel plan to fight their way out of £850,000 debts.
Ross County Ltd will become a property company owning and operating primarily their Dingwall stadium, while the football club will be franchised out to Global Highland Management Services - a recruitment and management services company operated by former County chairman Roy MacGregor.
A budget will be allocated to the football side, with a Director of Football appointed to oversee the team. The franchise agreement lasts for three years.
However, the club have urged supporters to help raise £70,000 to help solve a short term financial shortfall. Manager John Robertson resigned along with his assistant in October over planned cuts and the club have consistently lost money.
