In an attempt to increase gates at the struggling Conference club, Crawley Town have mailed 4 free tickets to each season ticket holder for the relegation dogfight against Southport on Saturday.
Meanwhile the agent of Dorryl Proffit, who had agreed to sign non-contract at Crawley, has hit back at rumours claiming that he had demanded "silly money" for the player's wages. In a statement placed on the ctfc.net forum, Jesse Learoyd-Hill stated "Dorryl?s anticipated earnings were in a ballpark just above the national average weekly wage."
"Put simply - The financial stumbling block was that although Crawley were prepared to reimburse the expenses that Dorryl and my company had paid out to facilitate his trial with the club (over two separate weeks), they - the club not Paul (Hobbs) - were not prepared to sanction an additional £50 per week subsistence towards his travelling and other costs incurred by relocating from Stoke-on-Trent."
Proffit is now believed to be talking to two other Conference sides about a move.
