In a short piece in the Worcester Evening News, Bulls coach John Trewick was quoted on the FA Cup draw as saying "I think any home draw is a good draw. Alfreton have picked up a lot and have a few players who know what they are doing."
Alfreton have started preparations for the game by releasing three players. Kevin Donovan, 33, and Shaun Smith, 34, both played for York against the Bulls last season, and Chris Dolby, who scored against the Bulls for Stalybridge in 1998, have all had their contracts terminated by mutual consent. Alfreton are currently searching for a central midfielder, and with a tight budget the cuts had to be made.
In other Conference news, Tamworth have signed striker Jake Edwards on loan from Exeter for three months.
