Stansfield out for six weeks

Adam Stansfield told the Hereford Journal earlier this week that he expects to be out for six weeks. The striker originally thought he had a groin injury but when he did not recover, it was realised he had a hernia problem.

He underwent an operation for a double hernia in a Manchester hospital on Tuesday.

Before leaving Stansfield said: "The operation will be carried out by one of the three top specialists in the country. He did a similar operation on Ryan Giggs. So, if it was good enough for him, it's good enough for me!"
