Guy Ipoua returned to the football field for Hereford United last night. He played around ten minutes in the LDV game which the Bulls won.
He was soon in trouble though and had to be restained by several team-mates after clashing with a Mansfield defender.
It was also soon evident that orders had been given to his team -mates to pump the ball upto the forward. However he failed to win the first three balls that came his way.
90 Hereford fans made the journey to Mansfield and created more atmosphere than the thousand or so home supporters. Amidst the signing was one noticable comment when Ipoua came on: "Ipoua sponsored by Saxty's!"
The ground was quite impressive as much of it was redeveloped about ten years ago. Should Mansfield be in the Conference next season it would stand out.
There was parking right night to the ground and stewarding outside the ground was good. However the stewards in the ground didn't seem to appreciate that not all Hereford fans like sitting down especially the more 'musical' ones.
Meanwhile Stags manager Peter Shirtliff spoke to BBC Radio Nottingham after the game.
"Disappointed we've lost, but there are a couple of good things, in terms of I've seen a couple of players out there who I haven't seen all season. Disappointed we didn't take our chances and in the second half we could have carved them open at times, and our final ball was really poor, so were disapointed in that respect, but overall I'm not too down hearted.
"Four of the changes were enforced, Jacobs played well and he got the man of the match award, which I'm pleased about. Arnold has just started training with the first team, and he looked sharp, he at times tonight was a bit unselfish, but he's one for the future
"Talbot was stretchered off after a clash of heads, but the good news is that he's up and about, but having suffered concussion he's a doubt for Saturday."
