Kidderminster manager Stuart Watkiss has revealed that the club's operating budget for the season relies on the Harriers getting past Southport in the Fourth Qualifying Round: "We have to get to the first round proper. Without revealing figures, I know the club have budgeted to make "x-amount" from a Cup campaign so we have to get beyond this stage at least. Hand on heart, if we don't get through, then it makes it more difficult financially for the club."
With £10,000 going to the winner of the round and a one third share of the gate money, getting to the First Round Proper could be worth six figures if the draw gives a club a visit to one of the larger League One sides, like Notts Forest or Bristol City.
Watkiss added his reaction to the draw: "My first reaction was disappointment. In the Cup, you want to play the easiest teams at home."
