Today's Exeter Express & Echo have reported that Alex Inglethorpe has quit his England job.
Formerly Assistant Manager to Paul Fairclough, both men were under pressure following the Conference's vote to press the FA for impartial employees in the post when the matter was reviewed at the end of Fairclough's contract.
Inglethorpe is quoted as saying: "There was a poll run which questioned my integrity. Some people claimed the role gave me an unfair advantage, but that is not true. I am really disappointed but I don't feel as though I have been given much choice. I leave with a heavy heart, I really enjoyed my time with the England setup and learned a great deal in the process, but I am not willing to put up with people looking down their noses at me - so I will have no further involvement with the setup."
