Tom Smith has left Edgar Street. The rumours that have been circulating about the whereabouts of the player for the last ten days appear to have been correct.
He was firstly said to be ill but the Hereford Times has this morning clarified matters.
They report that Smith's contract has been terminated by mutual consent.
Meanwhile there are injury worries about Andy Tretton, Craig Stanley and Danny Williams. All are said to be receiving treatment after Tuesday's game at Forest Green.
At this stage there is nothing to suggest that they will miss the Halifax game but should Tretton not be fit, Graham Turner will face a problem in the heart of defence with Tony James some way from returning to the squad after his injury.
In his own column, Graham Turner reveals that he has never known a season with so many clubs in contention for a play-off place. However he appears optimistic about prospects for the Bulls.
"I am very pleased with the way things have gone this season and still beleive we have the possibility of making it a very memorable season.
"We have just got to be in those play-offs. It proved last year that it does not matter whether you finish second or fifth. Once the play-offs start, everyone is equal again."
