York manager Billy McEwan praised Hereford goalkeeper, Craig Mawson, for another excellent performance which meant that the Bulls have kept five clean sheets in a row. But he thought that York had given away two stupid goals.
"Their keeper made some outstanding saves today. I've just been talking to their first-team coach (John Trewick) and he said that we played really well,"he told BBC Radio York.
"But you can't give opposition of the calibre we've played against a goal at the start. That was pure naivety, just a push. The crowd made the referee's mind up. It was an uphill battle after that.
"Six minutes before half-time we concede another goal which was another mistake by us.
"But we gave a really good side a good game today."
Meanwhile Hereford manager Graham Turner told local media: "It was a nervy performance.
"York looked a decent side going forward but we should have made more of the space they allowed us. But it was hard-working if not sparkling and a good afternoon for us."
