Paul Parry, the former Hereford United player, had to leave the field of play yesterday after only 35 minutes. He is understood to have suffered a recurrence of his ankle injury.
Welsh international Parry limped off during Cardiff City's Pontin's Holidays Combination reserve team defeat against AFC Bournemouth.
He had only made three reserve appearances for the Bluebirds since regaining his fitness.
The injury could lessen the likelyhood of any move away from South Wales before the transfer deadline in two weeks.
Parry had been linked with both Stoke and Blackburn.
