Unbeaten run continues
Hereford United successful pre-season continued this afternoon when they overcame Bromyard Town 7-0. Rob Purdie scored two in the first half, and five goals after the break gave United a comfortable victory. Jordan King, Paul Parry, Nathan Edwards and Steve Guinan's double secured the victory for the Whites.

Bromyard Town 0 - 7 Hereford
United
It wasn't
quite a result to match Ludlow, and Hereford had to work
for their goals, but in the end they scored seven without
reply at Delahay Meadow against local side Bromyard Town.
Plying their trade in the Express & Star West Midlands League Premier Division, Bromyard lost 12-0 against the Bulls this time last season, but Adie Hipkins in the home goal ensured the scoreline was restricted somewhat and had a solid game, as he marshalled an organised defence.
Hereford were boosted by the news that attacker Danny Bertram had signed a one-season deal at Edgar Street, but he was left on the bench as Rob Purdie led the attack, supported by wide-men Paul Parry and Danny Williams. It was the combination of Parry, who flew a ball in from the left, and Purdie, who scored, that generated the first goal after eleven minutes, and seven minutes later, a cross from Williams on the right against found Purdie after being left by Ben Smith, and the ex-Leicester City man doubled United's advantage.
The rest of the first half was a non-event to a great extent, as Hereford attempted to force further goals but failed, while Matt Baker in the United goal had to make a couple of saves, including a low shot from Jon Hayward. A minute before the break, John Warman's long range effort sailed wide of the far post as Bromyard looked to get back into the game.
After the break, at which point Hereford made four substitutes, Rob Purdie fired an angled ball over from five yards out but the Bulls lost Danny Bertram to a hamstring niggle, as he was replaced by Steve Guinan as a precautionary measure.
On the hour, Paul Parry lined up a good strike which was pushed away by goalkeeper Hipkins, but Jordan King was well placed to lob the ball over the stopper and put United three goals to the good. Within a minute, Steve Guinan had struck the crossbar and a long-ball from Michael Rose found Danny Williams on the right, who swept over a cross for Parry to make it 4-0.
Triallist Nathan Edwards capitalised on a poor clearance on sixty four minutes to strike well and beat the goalkeeper, but the Bulls were made to wait thirteen minutes for their sixth goal, which came courtesy of Steve Guinan, who latched onto a long ball to fire a shot home from twelve yards. Guinan was offside when he found the net again seven minutes from time, but made no mistake when Williams struck a free-kick from the right channel on eighty eight minutes, as he made it 7-0.
The game provided a good performance for Hereford, who made the most of the workout but their performance was not as convincing as at Ludlow. Bromyard, to their credit, defended well andtested the United backline on several occasions, and will hope to challenge at the right end of the table this season.
