Straight swap for banned Pitman

Matt Clarke is likely to replace Jamie Pitman in Hereford United's only change for tomorrow's game against Southport, kick off 3pm.

Clarke has recovered from a dead leg and Pitman is suspended to a straight swap at right wing-back position is almost certain.

Turner told the Evening News: "For some of the games we've not played that badly and Doncaster Rovers last week was a case in point," he said. "For the first 10 minutes we played well and should have gone ahead but didn't take our chances.

"Southport are a good side with some experienced players but we need to start picking our game up. Our recent record is one point out of 12 and that's a blip in our season and something that we have to put right."

"We've been playing well but we just need to start putting our chances away," commented Michael Rose. "We've also had some bad refereeing decisions go against as well which has not helped but every team goes through these stages in a season."

Southport will be without Steve Jones (hamstring) and Steve Soley (calf). Northern Ireland international Ian Nolan is also out with an ankle injury for a match manager Phil Wilson sees as part of a play-off race which is already under way. The Sandgrounders chief said: "Hereford are fighting for a play-off place just like ourselves and we need to get a good result against them."
