Council confirm United stance
In the Herefordshire Unitary Development Policy, which is publicly available for comments until December, the following confirms their stance over Edgar Street stadium.
"There has been pressure over recent years for the relocation of Hereford United Football Club from its site at Edgar Street on the edge of the city centre to an out of centre site. Such a move would be linked to redevelopment of the Club’s present site. However, the Club’s present location provides a complementary town centre use, assists in improving diversity and widening the choice of experience available within Hereford. The use integrates well with the city centre and is served by both public transport and car park facilities. As landowner, the Council wishes to retain the Club on its present site and the Plan includes no proposals to relocate the Club. Any proposals to redevelop and improve facilities on the present site will be favourably considered, and will be assessed under the overall framework of policy in the Plan."
