Latest accounts released
The accounts for the year ending May 31st 2001 have been released, reports this morning's Hereford Times.
They state that the club lost nearly £109,000 over the year and the debt stands at £1,370,204. Receipts from both the turnstiles and media fell by over £250,000 but costs look to have been kept to a bare minimum. Chairman Graham Turner, who appears to have taken a wage cut along with fellow directors Joan Fennessy and Ron Jukes, is said to take the view that the financial problems surrounding the club will be resolved before the D-Day of May 19th next year. Despite this, auditors Baker Tilly comment that Hereford United will not be in a position to continue trading at the end of the season if the situation is not resolved.
