Boro' boss upbeat

Scarborough boss Russell Slade was delighted with his side's 1-0 win at Hereford United yesterday.

“We grinded out a result,” he said. “They had a few long distance shots but nothing to worry us. The side is getting more resilient and back to somewhere like we were last season. It was a very solid performance and a good goal by David Pounder who linked up well with Bimbo Fatokun to score.”

Slade, who has been laid low by a virus this week, was in jubilant form afterwards: "If ever a man needed a tonic it was me," he said. "That was better than all the pills I've been taking."

His opposite number Graham Turner was disappointed: "We were a shadow of the side that's done so well in recent away games.".

Meanwhile, there is a correction to one of our previous articles. The prize in BOLSA's Last Team Standing competition stands at £106, and the total raised is £294.
