Bulls run riot in South Shields demolition

image0.jpeg

Hereford have demolished South Shields in a 6-0 win at Edgar Street.

Inside two minutes at Edgar Street, the Bulls found themselves a goal up against one of the title favourites, the big spending and full time Mariners. After Preston Bitemo sent a pin-point cross into the box, Harrison Iwunze held it up before a defender smashed the ball against Billy Phillips and pinging back past the keeper.

In the 21st minute, Bitemo doubled the host’s advantage as he half-volleyed a cross into the back of the net.

Two minutes from the break, the live wire Phillips made it three as he buried the ball past the keeper, with Bitemo with the assist.

Into the second half, and attacking the Meadow End, the dominance continued as Iwunze headed home from a corner.

Struggling to get forward as Hereford allowed them no time on the ball, South Shields’ heads dropped and notification and willpower wilted. The Bulls soon added a fifth, Phillips bagging a hat-trick after being teed up by substitute Harry Tustin.

But the demolition of Shields wasn’t over as Aaron Skinner buried the ball in the bottom right hand corner of the net as Hereford broke quickly from a corner.

The Bulls could’ve had seven, but Skinner blazed a late penalty well over the bar.

In short, blooming marvellous!
