Timeline - 10 months of woe for Hereford

Hereford manager Paul Caddis saw his side narrowly miss out on the play-offs in his first two seasons. But this campaign has been disastrous both on and off the pitch.

Hereford FC have had their worst season since forming 11 years ago.

Whether it's being stuck near the foot of the table or issues with the pitch, this campaign has been disastrous. However, you could say that the issues began even before the season got underway.

Here, we take a look back to the past 10 months.

26/04/25

After looking like they might finish in the play-offs, Hereford were first thrashed at Kidderminster then put in a limp performance on the final day at home to Scunthorpe to miss out.

Season tickets go on sale, but could they have been released earlier?

The squad builder is launched with the founding shareholders agreeing to match the donations. Likewise, could this have happened sooner?

Installation work also started on the new floodlights. It was initially due to take place the previous October but poor weather and high water levels meant it was put back. Could the drainage have been properly looked at then?

19/06/25

Yusifu Ceesay announces he is leaving Hereford, joining the likes of Jason Cowley, Alex Babos, Sammy Robinson and Jaiden White in departing the club.

24/06/25

Tate Campbell also leaves, joining Robinson at Buxton.

21/07/25

The club confirm that the home friendly against Leicester U21s - scheduled for the 26th - won't be going ahead due to a section of the Edgar Street pitch being damaged. It was caused by heavy machinery during the flood installation work.

02/08/25

Hereford lose their final pre-season friendly to a Chippenham side who are currently bottom of National League South. The Bulls only beat Wellington and Sporting Club Inkberrow in pre-season.

09/08/25

The 2025/26 season gets underway with a trip to Spennymoor. However, it's the first of four defeats in August, including a 4-1 home loss to Chorley.

26/08/25

Just weeks into the season, new signings Chris Wreh and Kai Williams are shipped out.

13/09/25

An FA Cup second qualifying round match at Sporting Khalsa was abandoned after reports that home keeper Ravan Constable was racially abused. Hereford were leading 2-1 at the time.

30/09/25

Hereford won the rearranged game at Khalsa, but after drawing at Hemel Hempstead in the next round sustained a humbling 3-0 defeat in the replay.

04/11/25

Another humbling 3-0 defeat, this time in the league at struggling Oxford City.

08/11/25

Hereford lose at home to Southport, another struggling side. That's despite them being reduced to 10 men.

11/11/25

A rescheduled match against Macclesfield is postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

29/11/25

Another postponed match, this time against Marine.

02/12/25

Hereford confirm that, due to ongoing issues with the Edgar Street pitch, the upcoming game against Peterborough Sports will be switched and played at PIMS Park. The 2-0 win there was Hereford's last in the league.

26/12/25

Kidderminster win at Edgar Street at Boxing for the second successive year. Remarkably, it was Hereford's last home league game.

30/12/25

Manager Paul Caddis confirms that Sam Osborne, who joined on a season long loan, will be returning to Alfreton.

01/01/26

After not playing for Hereford for weeks, Omari Sterling-James joins Hednesford for an undisclosed fee, with reports he "wanted to get out of Hereford."

05/01/26

It's not just at home where Hereford have had games called off. Poor weather conditions sees the Bulls' away match at Scarborough postponed for the third time.

22/01/26

The club is engulfed in another racism row. Hereford supporter KD Rai said he was no longer going to games due to racist chanting he heard at Merthyr at the end of last year.

27/01/26

Storm Candra sees Hereford's home game against Oxford called off, the second postponement in three days.

30/01/26

Hereford confirm that Remaye Campbell will be joining Hemel Hempstead for an undisclosed fee.

31/01/26

Hereford lose 2-1 at Curzon Ashton. The hosts went into the game having recently been thumped 8-0 at home at Telford and losing to bottom club, Leamington.

03/02/26

The home match against Marine is again postponed. Footage shows that there is a real issue in the corner of the pitch by the Meadow End/Len Weston Stand with the club saying they've tried everything to get it sorted. Other games go ahead, and Hereford are now eight points from safety with six games in hand.

05/02/26

Hereford confirm there will be a 2pm inspection the next day ahead of the home match with Fylde on Saturday. However, it looks increasingly likely it'll result in another game being called off.
