Hereford U18's progress into FA Youth Cup 2nd Qualifying Round after shoot-out success

Hereford FC U18's progress into the 2nd Qualifying Round of the FA Youth Cup after beating AFC Wolverhampton City U18's 4-3 on penalties this evening at Edgar Street in the 1st Qualifying Round and keeping their unbeaten start to the season going.

After the visitors took the lead from the penalty spot in the 11th minute the Bulls youngsters equalised after long ball by goalkeeper Will Utley was latched onto by Jude Gaudin before he rounded the goalkeeper.

Hereford then took the lead after a short corner eventually found it's way to Harry Jones who planted the ball first-time into the bottom-right corner before the Wulfs equalised despite the best efforts of Utley.

The second 45 became stretched with both sides searching for a winner in normal time but it didn't come so the cup tie went to a penalty shoot-out. First penalties for each we're saved by the goalkeepers with the visitors final kick rattling the crossbar before Harry Jones slotted away Hereford's final spot-kick to secure a 4-3 win.

Attention switches to another Cup competition now for Hereford in the form of the Colin Lowe Memorial League Cup when the Bulls youngsters welcome Kewford Eagles U18’s in the 1st Round to Newton Farm.
