Trophy tie goes to penalties after second half comeback

Penalties will have to decide whether AFC Fylde or Hereford will make it through to the fifth round of the FA Trophy with the score 2-2 at full time.

Fylde dominated possession and got their rewards, taking the lead from the penalty spot in the 31st minute. A dubious hand ball decision against Gus Mafuta left Danny Ormerod to convert in front of the Meadow End.

Seven minutes later they doubled their lead as Max Taylor bundled the ball home from a corner.

After a less than an impressive first half where Hereford failed to get a foothold in the game, the second half was a huge contrast.

With Lawson D'Ath reducing the deficit seconds after kick off after a stunning run through the middle unchallenged, Hereford went on to play with more energy and put Fylde under more pressure.

As the game edged towards full time, the Bulls had had their fair share of chances but Kyle Howkins' header that was cleared off the line was drilled home by Lewis Hudson from six yards.

Penalties to come.
