With tonight's game against Oxford called off, Hereford chairman Chris Ammonds has said that the financial position at the club is such that it can cope with the current difficulties in not playing games and also the costs of installing new pitch drainage next summer.
It was not that long ago that the club had just £5000 in the bank but a decision to ensure the club put aside a proportion of profits now looks prudent.
"Not having home games and not having Saturday home games has an impact on the club's financial position and income," said the Chairman.
"I think this is a lesson for us all and I include myself in this in terms of why it is so important that you do have reserves that you can call upon in times like this.
"If this had occured two and a half years ago we could have had serious problems from a cash flow prospective because as it's known by a lot of people that we were short of money in the bank.
"The good thing is that at the moment we have money to cover off this situation until we get the income back in, obviously the income is delayed.
"So that's a real positive and as much as we are all obessed about the football, it's incredibly frustrating because we all want to watch the football, I think it's a good lesson for us all because the club is now in a stronger financial position we can ride out this kind of issue without really having to worry about how we are going to pay the wages, pay anything.
"And the other thing I would like to say to people is that the drainage renewal work that we've got planned for the summer we've already set the money aside to do that because we know we have to.
"And again had we not got ourselves into a better financial position over the last two years we would probably be scrathing around to work out how on earth we were going to pay for the work that's needed."
