National North League Weekend Preview

This weekend's National North League preview is written by Tom Scott.

No guesses for what game is in the spotlight this weekend ahead of a mammoth battle at the summit of the Enterprise National League North.

AFC Fylde - who climbed to top spot last weekend - host ruthless Merthyr Town.

The Martyrs have won eight straight games and find themselves three points away from their weekend hosts.

Craig Mahon's leaders are also in fine fettle after hitting the top at his former side Curzon Ashton last weekend.

Looking to swoop are South Shields who host Kidderminster Harriers knowing a win could see them regain their previously long-held leader status.

Harriers have their talisman Ash Hemmings back looking to build on their first win in four last week.

Darlington are the only side even close to Merthyr's recent form.

The Quakers have dropped just two points from their last seven games and head to a struggling Oxford City side.

Chorley are on the road to Worksop - the Magpies haven't won away from Victory Park since late August while the Tigers have lost their last two at home.

Chester are finally getting back to the form that saw them reach the Promotion Final last season.

Cal McIntyre's side have one defeat in 13 league games but have drawn eight of those ahead of their trip to in-form King's Lynn Town.

After two games without a win on their patch Scarborough boss Jonathan Greening says he's desperate to get back to home comforts.

Granted that might be away from their usual home but Bedford Town are in town next.

Peterborough Sports are firing on all cylinders after three home wins on the spin - Hereford know they're in for fight to grab their first win in eight.

After a tough October, Southport boss Neil Danns has been nominated for Manager of the Month after their fine November form.

December checks in for the Port with a trip to AFC Telford United.

Elsewhere, Curzon Ashton host Alfreton Town while Spennymoor Town head to Marine.
