Hereford claim a point at Merthyr

Hereford have come from behind twice to pick up a point against Merthyr Town in front of 3,997 at Penydarren Park.

After dominating possession and threatening in the opening stages, with 27 minutes on the clock, the hosts took the lead. A weak header back to keeper Theo Richardson from Kyle Howkins saw Ricardo Rees intercept to break the deadlock.

But despite being under the cosh during the first half, the Bulls had chances - including I-Lani Edwards hitting the woodwork after good work by Harley Hamilton.

Into the second half, Thomas Handley had two great chances to double his sides lead, first hitting the upright before a second was tipped over the bar by Richardson.

With 58 minutes on the clock, Lewis Hudson did pull his side back level as Merthyr failed to deal with a corner. The skipper found the back of the net after getting on the end of a half clearance.

With Hereford finding their feet, they soon found themselves a goal down once again as a Rees cross was put past Richardson by Cole Jarvis.

With Andy Williams striking the crossbar and the side keeping the pressure up after a spirited second half, Kyle Howkins redeemed himself as he headed home an equaliser in injury time.
